On 28 February 2026, either or both the U.S. or Israeli Armed Forces bombed the Shajareh Tayyebeh girls' elementary school in Minab, Hormozogan province, in southern Iran. The school was hit still during school day, resulting in the deaths of 165 - 180 people, the vast majority of whom were schoolchildren[1][2]. It is so far the single most deadly event of the 2026 Iran War[3] and ranks amongst the deadliest school massacres in history.
