== History ==
Djibouti gained independence from [[French Republic|France]] in 1977 under [[Hassan Gouled Adipton]]. It was a one-party state until 1992. France, [[Italian Republic|Italy]], and [[Japan]] established military bases in 2002, 2011, and 2012 respectively. == Living standards ==
More than 60% of Djiboutians aged 15–34 are unemployed, and poverty has increased from 41.1% in 1996 to 79.4% in 2012.<ref name=":0" />
